Manchester United: Latest Updates on Rashford, McTominay, Martinez and Fernandes

Desperate for a Win

Manchester United come into their game against Arsenal following a disastrous run of results that has left them stranded in the Premier League’s eighth spot. Having claimed only one victory in their last seven league games, Erik ten Hag’s men are eager to surprise their in-form rivals at Old Trafford this weekend.

United had 11 players on the sidelines before their 4-0 defeat against Crystal Palace earlier this week. However, Ten Hag hopes to have a number of key names back for the final stretch of the campaign.

Good News From Carrington

On Thursday, Manchester United confirmed Marcus Rashford and Lisandro Martinez have returned to team training at Carrington. Rashford has stayed sidelined since picking up a knock against Coventry on April 21, while Martinez has been out with a muscle injury since March 30.

Martinez is not guaranteed to play against Arsenal as Ten Hag is unlikely to take any risks with the defender ahead of the FA Cup final. However, Rashford is expected to be available for selection alongside Bruno Fernandes and Scott McTominay, who are out with short-term injuries.

Fernandes is preparing to come back after narrowly missing out against Crystal Palace with a wrist injury. Ten Hag has also confirmed that McTominay will be ready to play against the Gunners after recovering from a knee issue.

Manchester United Injury List

In addition to Fernandes, McTominay, Rashford, and Martinez, the Red Devils have seven more players out with injury. However, except for Tyrell Malacia, none of them are ruled out for the season.

The potential returns of Harry Maguire, Willy Kambwala, Raphael Varane, Victor Lindelof and Luke Shaw could give United a timely defensive boost ahead of the FA Cup final. Meanwhile, Anthony Martial is pushing to make a comeback before his expected summer move away from Old Trafford.
